Chaplain, Major James Moser has been a member of CAP for 20 years during which time he has served as a squadron Aerospace Education Officer, Character Development Instructor, and an Historian. James is qualified as a Historian given not only his formal university undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the field, but also his completion of the requirements - including this web display - for his Senior and Master level ratings in the CAP Historian Specialty Track.
In addition to these duties James made history in 2013 becoming the youngest Department of Defense qualified chaplain to join the CAP Chaplain Corps. As a chaplain James has regularly given monthly Character Development lessons and devotions at his local squadron in addition to speaking on related matters at the 2015 Virginia Wing Conference, Virginia Encampment at Fort Pickett, and 2 Middle East Region Chaplain Corps Staff Colleges.
Related to his service with CAP James has also paid a number of official visits abroad where he has spoken before cadets and regular serving members of like organisations including: the British Air Training Corps, Australian Air Force Cadets, New Zealand Air Training Corps, Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and Royal Bermuda Regiment. James has also served as a CAP Chaplain for short stints in the Pacific including work at Kadena Air Base in Japan and Osan Air Base in the Republic of Korea. In 2017, James Moser was awarded the Commander's Award for Public Service from the Department of the Air Force for his previous work in CAP just before being formally sworn in as an officer in the US Air Force Reserve.
